What is NOVA?

NOVA is LaunchVic’s professional development program for those managing or planning innovation programs across Victoria.

Whether at universities, medical research institutes (MRIs), or startup support organisations like pre-accelerators and accelerators, NOVA helps you deliver more effective and impactful entrepreneurship programs. 

 

 

Program Overview

  • Kick off with two-day offsite
  • Targeted monthly masterclasses & workshops (zoom and in person)
  • 10+ hours of one-on-one coaching
  • Final showcase presentation to cohort and ecosystem.

Why NOVA?

Consultations with the Victorian Startup Ecosystem revealed consistent challenges: limited tailored professional development, lack of peer networks, and shifting landscapes hindering program momentum.

NOVA addresses these issues directly to strengthen Victoria’s startup education ecosystem. 

The NOVA  name comes from the Latin word for “new” and is also used in astronomy to describe a star that suddenly becomes extremely bright. It symbolises new beginnings, bursts of energy and rapid growth, a great metaphor for what the program is hoping to achieve.
