Scale Investors

Scale empowers investors and entrepreneurial women to connect, invest and succeed. Scale Investor’s vision is to equip Australians to become successful investors whose wealth is enhanced through connection with, investment in, and support of gender diverse entrepreneurs in early-stage startups.

Scale Investors received funding from LaunchVic in 2018 to produce an online investor education course StartUp InvestED to increase the availability of educational resources for investors across the state. Scale Investors received additional funding in 2019 to boost its operations and improve its existing activities.

StartUp InvestED is a self-paced, online course exploring the rewards and potential pitfalls of investing in startups. Some of Australia’s most experienced angel investors offer an insider’s look at best practices in this space.

The purpose of this program is to support the education of existing and prospective angel investors, to help grow and develop a stronger angel network community in Victoria.

The course includes five modules and covers:

• Risk & Reward
• Deal Flow
• Doing the Deal
• How to be a good angel…growing value
• Follow-on Rounds and Exits
• Searchable Glossary of investment terms and definitions put together by investment professionals and legal firm Piper Alderman
• Reference material of globally sources resources that are continually updated
